Saguaro Forms T-Shirt

$19.99 USD $29.00 USD

This stylized design of saguaro forms and cactus flowers was originally created  as a cover for Liberty magazine. Frank Lloyd Wright's initials are printed on the back of the neck.

100% cotton t-shirt is machine washable.

In 1927, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a series of covers for Liberty magazine. These designs were considered too avant-garde by Liberty and were never used. This T-shirt design is adapted from one of those covers, "Saguaro Forms and Cactus Flowers," which was eventually published in 1930 on the cover of Modern Architecture, a compilation of lectures presented by Wright at Princeton University.

The square shapes at the top of the cactus arms represent blooms of the saguaro, state flower of Arizona, which are seen throughout the grounds of Taliesin West, Wright's winter home.

100% Cotton.
