Poetry Nymph Sculpture 19"
For Midway Gardens in Chicago (1913; demolished 1929), a fashionable entertainment complex, Wright created a magical combination of architecture, furniture, sculpture and murals. In collaboration with the sculptor, Alfonso Iannelli, a series of "Sprite" sculptures were created; dozens were cast to adorn walls and walkways. This "Poetry Nymph" is representative of one of those that adorned the Gardens. Made of cold cast resin. Hand painted. Recommended for indoor use only. 18-1/2"h x 5"w x 5-1/4"d.
