Sprite w/Crossed Arms Sculpture 13"
For Midway Gardens in Chicago (1913; demolished 1929), a fashionable entertainment complex, Wright created a magical combination of architecture, furniture, sculpture and murals. In collaboration with the sculptor, Alfonso Iannelli, a series of "Sprite" sculptures were created; dozens were cast to adorn walls and walkways. This "Sprite with Crossed Arms" is representative of one of three that adorned the Gardens. Made of hand-cast resin and recommended for indoor use only. 13-1/4"h x 2-3/4"w x 2-5/8"d.
